First trip to Pho Lang Thang!! We got an order of Gui Cuon. Like usual, a staple of mine whenever we go out to eat Vietnamese food. It was fresh and delicious! They used BIG shrimps and just enough noodles!
I had the regular sized Pho with rare beef, beef balls, tripe… bascially EVERYTHING. :) THE BROTH WAS SO GOOD!!! I usually add a lot of hoisin sauce and sriracha, but this time I didn’t add as much. Ohhh… how this made me drool! I almost drank it all!!! The noodles were cooked perfectly too! I’m not too crazy about rice noodles. I know its traditional for pho, but I’m in love with egg noodles. Just my personal preference though.
Ethan ordered the banh mi. THAT TASTED SO GOOD! The lemon garlic beef was cooked to tender mouthwatering perfection. It had fresh jalapenos and I was so surprised that they weren’t burning my mouth! Next time I need to try it!
We liked this place so much that we said we should go back! It was also VERY affordable!
April 6th Morning Snack
I had extra edemame (soy beans) from the Japanese club. I drew a regular face and a dog face on two of the beans. A yummy healthy snack for studying in the morning. We were in the library. One of the pictures is of my physics book! lol
April 5th International Student Fair
Japanese club table! One of the Japanese students made an origami flamingo and put it in the konpeito.
Konpeito is a type of Japanese candy. Its just like rock candy, but in a small round form. So, konpeito is quite litterally just sugar candy! Its really colorful! I love getting the smaller ones. Its a lot of fun to eat the different colors, though they all taste the same. The ones pictured are a larger version of konpeito.
April 4th Free Food for Commuters Day at School!!!
Yummy cookies from Busken bakery! Their icing isn’t overly sweet and its chewy!!! I don’t know how they do that, but its AMAZING!
Two cheese coneys from either Gold Star or Skyline. I can’t remember. I really think its Skyline!! I actually really like coneys. Some people think its sickening, but I really like em! I like mine with chili (of course!), LOTS of cheese, a lil bit of mustard and a generous helping of onions!!!
Third on the plate is cheese pizza from La Rosa’s pizzeria. One of the many pizza chains here. I think La Rosa’s is alright. I don’t really like the excessive sauce, and I don’t really like their crust. But over all it was a good slice. :)
Not pictured, because I was eating it is a piece of a GIANT pretzel from Servatii!! They have amazing breads there!! PRETZEL BREAD ESPECIALLY! :)
Ahhh…. free food days…
